Laura Vena is a writer, artist, curator and translator whose work has appeared in Super Arrow, Tarpaulin Sky, In Posse Review, The Dirty Fabulous, Antennae and elsewhere. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing and Critical Studies from CalArts and is interested in works of a fantastic nature and those that investigate the ethical and aesthetic considerations of representation. Laura is a Contributing Editor for Entropy Magazine and teaches at CalArts and USC. She is working on a manuscript in which a goddess steps from the confines of a creation myth onto the Los Angeles River Channel, a rebirthing at the birthplace of a city, layered with experience and rebellion and memories eroded and written over, but all simultaneously present and tangible, palimpsest-like.
