Edwin Torres is a NYC native whose books include, “XOETEOX: the infinite word object” (Wave Books), “Ameriscopia” (University of Arizona Press), “In The Function of External Circumstances” (Nightboat), and “The PoPedology of an Ambient Language” (Atelos Books). Anthologies include: American Poets in the 21st Century: The Poetics of Social Engagement, Who Will Speak For America, Post-American Poetry Vol. 2, and Aloud; Voices From The Nuyorican Poets Café. Fellowships include; New York Foundation for the Arts, The Foundation for Contemporary Art, Creative Writing Fellow at University of Pennsylvania, and Artist’s Choice Residence at The Institute for Contemporary Art, Richmond Va. He’s been commissioned by Letras Latina to create text/art based on Rafael Lozano-Hemmer’s exhibition at The Hirschorn Museum “Pulse,” which uses interactive technology to explore the heartbeat’s connection to humanity. He is editor of the recently published, “The Body In Language: An Anthology” (Counterpath Press).
